Black Women’s Experiences with Algorithmic Microaggressions
Princess Sampson (she/they) is a software engineer and human-centered computing researcher. They currently attend Spelman College as a computer science & comparative women's studies double major. Princess has interned at Amazon and Etsy and is an incoming intern with Adobe Research. As a software engineer, they have designed and implemented big data engineering workflows supporting advertising recommender systems. Beginning Fall 2022, they will pursue a PhD in computer science. Their current research interest is the intersection of marginalized identity with sociotechnical systems, especially preventing the propagation of algorithmic harms and biases.
Ratziel Ogburu-Ogbonnaya (her/hers) is a senior computer science major attending Spelman College. She has interned at Fortress Investment Group where she was introduced to QA applications and various microarchitectures for the Robotic Process Automation (RPA)/AI systems. She will be interning with Accenture this upcoming summer as a Technology Summer Analyst where she’ll be called to implement front end applications and solutions. She will be graduating during the Fall 2022 and is working to get an internship abroad to explore more opportunities establishing in AI in foreign countries.
